How To Prepare For Your Lash Treatment
To ensure the best results and suitability for treatment, please read the following pre-treatment advice carefully:
• Please arrive with clean lashes — no mascara, eye makeup, oils, or lash serums on the day of your appointment.
• Avoid using waterproof mascara for at least 24–48 hours prior, as it can leave residue on the lashes.
• Do not curl your lashes on the day of your appointment.
• Avoid lash extensions for at least 2 weeks beforehand.
• If you wear contact lenses, you will need to remove them before your treatment.
• If you have had any recent eye infections, eye surgery, or are experiencing irritation, please let me know before your appointment.
Lash Lift Aftercare
The First 24–48 Hours
- During this window, you must be extremely careful to ensure the lift doesn't drop or become distorted.
- Keep Lashes Dry: Avoid water, including showering, washing your face, or swimming.
- Avoid Steam and Heat: Stay away from saunas, steam rooms, facial steamers, and even steam from kettles or open ovens.
- No Eye Makeup: Do not apply mascara, eyeliner, or eye creams during the first 24 hours.
- Do Not Touch or Rub: Avoid rubbing your eyes or touching your lashes, as they are still delicate and malleable.
- Sleep on Your Back: Try not to sleep on your face or side to prevent your lashes from being crushed or bent into an awkward position.
- Avoid Exercise: Heavy sweating can disrupt the setting process; it is best to skip the gym for at least 24 hours.
Long-Term Maintenance
Once the initial 48-hour period has passed, follow these steps to maintain the health and longevity of your lift, which can last 6 to 8 weeks.
- Condition Daily: Use a Nouveau Lashes Conditioning Serum or similar nourishing product twice daily to keep lashes hydrated and prevent brittleness.
- Brush Regularly: Gently groom your lashes with a clean spoolie brush every morning to keep them separated and neat.
- Use Oil-Free Products: Oil-based cleansers and makeup removers can weaken the lift over time. Stick to water-based alternatives.
- Avoid Waterproof Mascara: If you choose to wear mascara, use a water-based formula. Waterproof versions are difficult to remove and require rubbing, which can damage the lift.
- No Lash Curlers: You will not need mechanical curlers, and using them can cause lash breakage.
- Tint Top-Ups: While the lift lasts up to 8 weeks, the tint may fade sooner. You can return to the salon after 4 weeks for a tint refresh.
